It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ramona Jenkins LaPlante of Kinston, North Carolina, born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, who passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gardner Bryant and Lela Mae Collins; her former husband Lynwood Earl Jenkins; and her son Lynwood Bryant Jenkins. She is survived by: her husband Claude LaPlante; her children, Valeria Jenkins Malcom (Gregory) of Grovetown, GA., Allison Jenkins Croom (Randy) of Deep Run, NC and Michael Shane Jenkins of Kinston, NC; her sister Sharron Coston (Charles); her grandchildren, Joshua Ellis, Kiri Malcom Onufer, Joshua Malcom, Rebecca Croom Counts, Maecy Croom, Reaghan Croom, Maddox Jenkins, Noah Jenkins and Zachary Jenkins; and her great grandchildren, Liam Ellis and Allen Lattimore.
