It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael James Ward of Kinston, North Carolina, who passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Virgil Ward and Marolyn Jean Shafley; his sister Cherrie Smith; his grandmother Minnie Mae Orr; and his pets, Trooper, Harley, Banjo and Gizmo.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hoover Ward; his sons, James Ward of Spring Lake, NC and Brandon Scott Ward (Misty) of Kinston; his grandchildren, Mia Ward, Zoe Ward, Lea Ward, Ali Ward, Sydaleigh Ward, Novaleigh Ward, Kenzie Ward and Brier Ward; and his sisters, Lynda Dawson and Kathy Spence (Horace) of Kinston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lenoir County SPCA.
