It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Franklin Woodard (Kinston, North Carolina), born in Princeton, North Carolina, who passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Woodard and Flora Mae Daughtry Woodard; his wife Faye Rose Woodard; and his siblings, Wilbert Lee Batten, Millard Woodard, Alonzo Woodard (Lum) and Shirley Woodard.
He is survived by: his children, Kent Woodard (Sari) of Clayton, NC, Frankie Woodard Lyons (Kevin) of Belt, MT and Alan Woodard (Vicki) of Jacksboro, TN; and his brother Charles Ray Woodard (Doris) of Princeton. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
