He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shivar and Alice Shivar; and his sister Janet Williams. He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Parris Shivar; his daughters, Sheila West and Sandra Jones; his brother Cecil Sutton; his grandchildren, Kayce Rhue, Heather Rowe, Taylor Rhue, Hailey Hahn, Tate Rhue and Hunter Davis; his great grandchild Emerson Rowe; and his in-laws, Paulette Sutton, Timothy West, Robert Jones, William Rowe, Luke Hahn and Andrew Davis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Grace Baptist Church (311 North Carolina Hwy 58, Kinston, NC 28504). A burial was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Westview Cemetery (917 Cleveland Dr, Kinston, NC 28504).
