He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Harvey Brown of Snow Hill, NC, Lester Maye (Nicole) of Grifton, NC, Leon Maye, Orlandous Maye (Juanita) of Kinston, NC, Toma Maye (Amekea) of McDonough, GA, Mary Sanders of Kinston, NC and Judith Johnson (Kevin) of Fredericksburg, VA; his daughter-in-law Ella Lewis; his sisters, Mary Jones (Bob) of Grifton, NC and Barbara Speight (Billy Ray) of Maury, NC.; his nephew Randy Mason of Kinston, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Mason (Loistene) of Laurel, MD, Lester Mason (Katherine), Frances Mason of Hugo, NC, Deloise Atkinson and Baltimore, MD. He was also cherished by 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
