He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. McPhail and Hannah Janie Butler. He is survived by: his wife Daisy Wynn McPhail; his children, Pamela M. Ivey of Ayden, NC, Lorraine Thomas of Kinston, NC, Sonya M. Brady of Lancaster, PA, Charles McPhail of Kinston, NC and Lawrence McPhail of Atlanta, GA; and his sisters, Doris Thompson of Kinston, NC and Naomi M. Best of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews' other relatives and friends.
