He was predeceased by: his parents, Durwood Smith and Lera Bella Rouse Smith; and his siblings, Durwood Lynn "Jimboy" Smith, Elmer Bryan Smith Sr., Robert Dean Smith Sr. and Helen Smith Alphin.
He is survived by: his friend Lynwood Small; his wife Mavis Sutton Smith; his children, Kenneth Larry Smith and Katherine Smith Beamon (T. C.); his grandchildren, Andrew Edward Beamon (Marla Dale) and Alexandra Beamon Hawkins (Thomas); his sister-in-law Mary Davenport Smith; and his caregivers, Gwen, Miss Lois, Missie, Kim and Judy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the John Green Smith Family Cemetery.
