He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Emmett Murphy and Ethel Murphy. He is survived by: his children, Kim Fakhoury of Wilmington, Rhonda Greene (Michael) of Fuquay-Varina, Brooks Murphy of Greenville, Sydni Murphy of Kinston and Bryce Murphy of Kinston; his grandchildren, Kelsey Fakhoury, Bridgette Greene, Tyler Greene, Mia Denton, Phoenix Carter, Angel Carter, Armani Taft and Eliha Winter; and his siblings, Faye Moore of Kinston, Arlene Ferren of Winterville and Buster Murphy of Kinston. He is also survived by one son, and several grandchildren, as well as two sisters and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kent's memory may be made to The Lenoir County SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), Kinston, NC.
