It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Bernice Langley of Kinston, North Carolina, who passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Roy Langley and Gladys Gray Langley; his former wife Linda Lou Langley; and his sister Ann Speight (Charles) of Kinston. He is survived by: his wife Betty Lokey Langley; his children, Rita K. Hawkins (Eddie) of Kinston, Patricia Smith Baker (Stewart) of Kinston, Emerald Isle, Sheila Ward (Steve) of Trenton, Joy Long (Eddy) of La Grange, Betty Jo Harrison (Steven) of La Grange, Bonnie Blue Asher of Kinston, James Langley, Jr. (Chip) of Stokes and Clifton Glenn Huggins (Kari) of La Grange; his sister Jeanette Hensley (Ray) of Seymour, TN; and his close friend Francis Whitfield. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
