He was predeceased by: his sister Elaine Rouse Broadwell. He is survived by: his spouse Jean Whitfield Rouse; his children, Wendy Rouse Singleton (Anthony) and James Albert "Jay" Rouse, III (Sandee); and his grandchildren, Jessica Abigail "Abbey" Rouse, Sommer Leigh Holmes and Brooke Whitfield Holmes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
