He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman McLawhorn and Fonnie McLawhorn; his wife Bonnie H. McLawhorn; and his siblings, Carma Pate, William McLawhorn, Virgie Daniels, Georgie Kilpatrick, Thelma Simpkins, Peggy Creech, Douglas McLawhorn and Kenneth McLawhorn.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Spencer (Glenn) of Wilmington, NC, Kellie Beasley of Wilmington, NC, Ed Cook (Aimy) of Greenville, SC, Patsy Cook and Brian Cook (Tracey) of Dumfries, VA; his sister Joyce M. Moore of The Villages, FL; his niece Donna McLawhorn of Snow Hill; and his close friend Wilson P. Jones of Deep Run. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, as well as great grand nieces and nephews and many cousins.
