She was predeceased by: her parents, George Benson and Christine Benson; her husband Jerry Herman "Buster" Smith, Jr.; and her sister Sherley B. Smith. She is survived by: her sons, Jerry Smith III and Stanly Smith; her sister Anne O'Briant; her daughter-in-law Donna Baldwin; her daughters, Courtney and Kaitlyn Baldwin; her friend Elaine Godwin; her grandson Christopher Smith; and her great grandchild Abram Smith.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rivermont Baptist Church (2478 US-258, Kinston, NC 28504).
