She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Rouse and Hattie Garris Rouse; and her sisters, Shirley McGee and Kathleen Hinson. She is survived by: her siblings, Linda Blackburn (Bobby), Eleanor Rouse Williams (Tim), Martha Rouse Turnage (Ralph), Johnny Rouse, Melvin Thomas Rouse (Frances) and Ricky Leon Rouse. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Jackson OFWB, 285 Camellia Street, Kinston, NC 28504 or to St. Jude Children's' Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
