He is survived by: his wife Martha B. Smith; his children, George James Smith III, Mary Smith and Norma Smith; his stepdaughter Anne Marie Bartlett (Frank); his granddaughter Virginia Grace Smith (Jenna); his stepgranddaughter Holly Capps; his siblings, Thelma Barrow and Johnny Smith (Maxine); and his siblings-in-law, Carole King, David R. Cauley and Gary E. Rouse. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
