She was predeceased by: her husband Paul Elwood Byrd; her parents, Dewey Price and Gertrude Hill Price; her son Kermit R. Byrd; and her brothers, Raymond Price and Ralph Price.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Byrd, Jr. of Kinston, Pamela Lee (Frankie) of Kinston and Paula Werk (Tom) of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Stephanie Lee Grant, Ty, Paul Lee, Allison Werk Farr (Matthew), Samantha Byrd Akyeampong (Daniel Akyeampong), Collins Werk and Joshua Taylor; and her great grandchildren, Luca Nikolas Grant, Lea Denise Grant, Everett Rowan Farr, Violet James Farr and Liam Taylor. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Jackson Heights Original Free Will Baptist Church, 285 Camellia Street Kinston, NC 28504.
