He is survived by: his wife Essie Elmore Haynes; his daughter Michelle Carter; his grandchildren, Ashley Warren (Justin) and Heather Thigpen (Justin) of Snow Hill; his great grandchildren, Kadence of Snow Hill and Caroline Thigpen of Snow Hill; his sister Dorothy Cameron of Kinston; and his nephews, Joe Cameron (Susan) of Kinston and Gene Cameron, Jr. of Wilson.
