With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Jane Smith (Kinston, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 26, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cain Taylor and Celia Sanderson Taylor; and her siblings, Wayne, Acra, Winzell, Elwood, Sidney, Fred and J. C..
She is survived by: her husband James W. "Jimmy" Smith; her sister Ida Taylor Sutton (Glenn); her daughter Jane Smith Croom (Felix); her grandson Austin Croom (Abby); and her caregivers, Sarah Lane Bass and Cindy Gates.
