She is survived by: her husband Jim Hartis of Kinston; her daughters, Lucy Whaley (Bill) of Kinston and Nancy Mueller (Bob) of Brentwood; her grandchildren, Laura Whaley Wellington (Jason) of Wilmington, NC, Charles Whaley (Lauren) of Salisbury, NC, Mari Mueller Zusin (Mike, Will Mueller) of Nashville and Nick Mueller of Nashville; her great grandchildren, Charlie, Betsy Wellington of Wilmington, NC, Margaret and Banks Whaley of Salisbury, NC; her brother Talmage Jones (Beth) of Wilmington, NC; and her nieces and nephews, Bryan Jones of Morganton, NC, Josh Jones of Aberdeen, MD, John Barrett of Dade City, FL, Bruce Barrett of Martinsville, NJ, Kevin Barrett of Plainfield, NJ, Barbara Barrett Stickle of Macedon, NY and Elizabeth Barrett Sabo of Brighton, NY..
