He is survived by: his wife Veronica Gilchrist; his children, Jennifer Nails (LaGrange), Maya Crowder (Raleigh), Aaron H. Gilchrist and Benjamin King of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his siblings, Mary Gilchrist of Kileen, TX, Matilda Freeman, Antonette Croom (Kinston), Calvin Gilchrist (Kinston), Marion Gilchrist (Kinston), Ray Gilchrist (Kinston) and William Earl Gilchrist (Kinston). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchildren.
