He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Hayes; his sister Cynthia Hayes; and his stepbrothers, Tommy D. Rucker and Roy J. Rucker. He is survived by: his parent Voyd Lee Hayes; his stepfather Shirley Burton Rucker; his niece Candice Eaker (John Jones); his nephews, Brandon Morrison (Wendy) and Jon Eaker (Shawna); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Eli, Luca, Lilah, Casen and Carsen.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Penley's Chapel (1508 N Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
