She was predeceased by: her parents, Z. S. "Bub" Carpenter and Laura Elizabeth Harmon Carpenter; her husband James Julius Alexander; and her siblings, Troy Carpenter, Lathan Carpenter, Beth Carpenter Terres, Earlene Carpenter Mosteller and Shirley Carpenter Payseur.
She is survived by: her daughters, Libby Alexander Putnam (Roger) of Kings Mountain, NC. and Janet Alexander Edwards (Terry) of Kings Mountain, NC.; her grandchildren, Laura Putnam Evans (Reid) of Stanley, NC, James Putnam (Sarah) of Dallas, NC, Susan Putnam Dover (Matt) of Kings Mountain, NC, Stephanie Edwards Greenwood (Tyler) of Charlotte, NC, Emily Edwards Nishiyama (Yuuki) of Mt. Holly, NC and Alexandra "Alex" Edwards Sellers (Hogan) of Kings Mountain, NC.; and her great grandchildren, Zoe, Kara, Erin Evans, Russell, Catherine Putnam, Joanna, Wesley Greenwood, Beckham, Owen Nishiyama and Boston Sellers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Mountain Rest Cemetery (111 S Dilling St, Kings Mountain, NC 28086). Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:20 AM at the Central Methodist Church (113 S Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Central Methodist Church of Kings Mountain (113 S Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086).
