She was predeceased by: her parents, William Frealo Mayes and Laura Jane Ellis Mayes; her husband Roger Eugene Philbeck; and her brothers, Roy Mayes, William "Bill" Mayes, Lawrence Mayes, Clyde Mayes, Kenneth Mayes and Morris Mayes.

She is survived by: her children, Scott Philbeck (Kings Mtn) and Laura Philbeck Horn (Brian).
