We bid farewell to Eddie Blanton of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 29, 2025 at the age of 59. Eddie touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his wife Vicki Blanton; his parents, Martha Blanton and Z. B. Blanton (Tommy); his brother Tom Sorrells; his niece Tarla Rayne Blanton; and his nephew Braxton Zayne Blanton.
He is survived by: his siblings, Rita Blanton of Stamford, CT, Jonie Blanton, Barbara Blanton of Kings Mountain and Brenda Trimble of Topeka, KS.; his nieces, Erin (Julez Hudson), Olivia Rich (Malcolm Kim) of Rochester, NY, Sabrina Blanton-Rich and Glasgow; and his stepchildren, Brandon and Kelly Humphries of Gaffney, SC.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Blakely Funeral Home (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Eddie's favorite charity, the Wounded Warrior Project (warrior project.org).
