He was predeceased by: his parents, George Russel and Pearl Neal Shytles; his wife Shirley Banks Shytles; and his brother Sidney Shytles. He is survived by: his children, Mark Douglas Shytles of Kings Mountain, NC, Rhonda Shytles Cloninger (Rusty) of Belton, NC and Brent Russell Shytles of Kings Mountain, NC.; his siblings, Frank Shytles (Reba) of Gaffney, SC, John Shytles of Boiling Springs, SC and Abbey Gaston of Atlanta, GA.; his grandchildren, Leslie Laughridge (Ryan), Karen Rhodes (Jonathan), Joel Cloninger (Mary Frances), Russ Shytles, Kristen Wright (Jason) and Scottlyn McCullough (Grayson); and his great grandchildren, Noah, Bella, Hudson, Alex, Adalyn, Abigail, Emily and Benjamin.
