It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol York of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on November 12, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Wellmon and Elma Barnett Wellmon; and her siblings, Doc Wellmon and Janice Lewis. She is survived by: her husband William York; her daughter Gale Willis (Danny) of Shelby; her grandchildren, Amy Patterson (Danny) and Jake Willis (Meredith); her great grandchildren, Sarah Jade Patterson and William Andrew Patterson; and her great-niece Lacey Gaddy.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home (1401 W Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Zoar Baptist Church or Via Hospice.
