With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bobby James Tate of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on April 10, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Floyd James Tate; his former wife Lorine Wilson Tate; his son Steve Conley Rowland; and his sister Mary Mitchem. He is survived by: his wife Janice Putnam; his son Jimmy Tate; and his stepsons, Robbie Putnam and Andy Putnam. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close friends.
