With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Lindsey Merritt of King, North Carolina, who passed away on July 30, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Merritt and Bessie Priddy Merritt; his grandson Timothy "Andrew" Merritt; and his siblings, Grace Everhart, Mozelle Stewart, Ina Aldridge, Hubert, Harvey, Fred, Herbert and Dennis Merritt.
He is survived by: his children, Tim R. Merritt (Pam) and Julie M. Benson (Kelly); his grandchildren, Hannah M. Creed (Patrick), Timothy "Luke" Merritt (Autumn), Brett B. Bennett (Alex) and Orry L. Benson (Laken); and his great grandchildren, Cade Creed, Emma Creed, Jameson Bennett, Grady Bennett and Lorelynn Benson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
