He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell James Saunders and Mary Cleo Hauman; his stepfather Joe Rex; his brother Dave Saunders; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Calloway Saunders.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Jean Saunders; his children, Michael James Saunders and Melissa Saunders Perryman (Jeffrey); and his grandchildren, Emily Susan Saunders, Alex Michael Saunders, Austin James Saunders and Cora Elizabeth Perryman.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chestnut Grove Methodist Church (1024 Volunteer Rd, King, NC 27021).
