He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Browning Woodard; and his daughter Denise Harris. He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Wakeley (Doug) of Kitty Hawk, NC, Yvonne Bason (Kent) of Virginia Beach, VA, R. Winston Woodard III (Kill Devil Hills) and Earl McDowell "Mac" Woodard of Virginia Beach, VA; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Kenan, Rachel Fucci, Benjamin Tillet-Wakeley, Stephen Harris, Evie Schneider, Woody Harris, Jonathan Tetterton, Jason Tetterton, Shelby Woodard and Cayla Woodard. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
