He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Martin Hammill and Elizabeth Robson Hammill; and his brother Frederick Marshall Hammill. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Minter Hammill; his daughters, Ann Leslie Hammill of Raleigh, NC and Catherine Martin Hammill; and his sister Beth Hammill Byrnes (Henri Byrnes) of Decatur, GA.. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
