He was predeceased by: his parent Jewel Anderson Thompson. He is survived by: his parent Billy R. Thompson; his children, Tabetha Thompson and Dennis R. Thompson, Jr.; his sisters, Janet Mullins and Karen Parsons (Stanley); and also Gina White (Curtis). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
