He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Stebbins Bortz; his daughters, Tricia Kerlin and Laura Bortz of Kitty Hawk, NC; his grandsons, Taylor Nathaniel Harris and Christian James Kerlin; his siblings, Nelson Markley Bortz Jr., Hettie Elizabeth Bortz Ghidella and Rebecca Jean Bortz Costello; his nephew Scott Bortz; and his nieces, Julie Bortz and Kelly Costello Runyon. He is also survived by his extended family, many good friends.
