He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman B. Carter and Florence Batchelor Carter; and his siblings, Kenneth, Floyd and Estelle.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Moran Carter; his son Steven L. Hampton (Kim); his grandchildren, Sydney Len Hampton Graffagnino (Jason), Logan Michelle Hampton, Mitchell Gray Hampton (Isabel), Kate Rollins Clodfelter (Tyler) and Luke Kristopher Rollins (Katelyn); and his great grandchildren, Hayden Graffagnino and Berkley Clodfelter.
