It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Harmon Thornton (Kernersville, North Carolina), who passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Haskue Harmon and Elsie Harmon; her husband Barry Thornton, Sr.; her son Barry Thornton, Jr.; and her brothers, Dennis Harmon, Darrel Harmon, David Harmon and Dewey Harmon.
She is survived by: her son Zed Thornton of Walkertown; her daughter-in-law Lisa Thornton (late Barry Thornton, Jr.) of Belews Creek; her grandsons, Justin Thornton (Ashlea) of Belews Creek, Jared Thornton (Nikki) of Stokesdale and Jason Thornton (Ellen) of Kernersville; her great grandchildren, Madison Thornton, Mackenzie Trent, Isaiah Honeycutt, Ashlyn Thornton, Savannah Thornton, Marley Bull, Levi Thornton and Kimber Thornton; her siblings, Brenda Harmon of Princeton, WV and Dean Harmon of Brooksville, FL; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Harmon, Sarah Harmon, Stella Thornton and Melva Thornton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
