He is survived by: his son Gray Thomas of Kernersville; his brothers, Nathan Ray Thomas (Barbara) of Winston Salem and Jonathan Glenn Thomas (Diane) of Winston Salem; and his grandsons, Dylan Stephen Thomas and Jackson Gray Thomas.
