With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Smith of Kernersville, North Carolina, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on May 22, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Surbrook and Jessie Surbrook; her husband Pastor James Corven Smith; and her great-nephew Wiley Bellen. She is survived by: her sister Esther Bingham; her nephews, Steve Bellen (Deborah) and Tim Bellen (Ellen); her great-nephews, Tyler Bellen and Kapena Spring; and her cousins, Wayne Peabody (Judy) and Howard Peabody (Cathy). She is also survived by numerous other cousins, family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Mountain Camp at 3594 Youth Camp Road, Sophia, NC 27350.
