He is survived by: his wife Barbara Wellons Steelman; his daughter Renee Steelman Long (Joel) of Gastonia, NC; his grandchildren, Macy Long and Jake Long; his sister Betty Steelman of Henderson, NC; and his nieces, Mary Kathryn, Elizabeth and Rebekah.
