He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Coleman Pilson; his children, Oscar Charles Pilson II (Catherine) and Melanie Pilson; and his siblings, Gloria Pilson of Bassett, VA, Joan Pilson of Rocky Mount, VA, Harry Pilson (Olivia) of Fredericksburg, VA and Nathan Pilson of Bassett, VA. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
His retirement marked the culmination of his substantial contributions to public service and education.
