He was predeceased by: his parents, John Braxton Craven, Sr. and Wilma Ramey Craven; and his siblings, John Braxton Craven, Jr. and Jackie Elaine Craven. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jarrard "Bobbie" Craven; his sons, Byron Wesley Craven (Dawn) and Robert Franklin Craven (Vickie); his grandsons, Jonathan Wesley Craven, Joshua Clyde Craven and Brandon Brewster (Tiffany); his great grandchildren, Jenson Brewster, Blake Alexandria Brewster and Beckham Jayce Craven; and his siblings, Gay Whitt (Cecil) and Thomas F. "Tommy" Craven.
