He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Brown Peterson, Sr. and Patty Jean Morris Peterson; and his siblings, Bud, Sandra, Janet and Donna.

He is survived by: his wife Gail Ruth Peterson; his siblings, Edie, Jeff and Dennis; and his stepdaughters, Lisa, Brandy and Deanna. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
