She was predeceased by: her parents, James Chester and Gladys Simmons Bowman; and her brother Johnny. She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Nelson; her son Rodney Nelson; and her sister Nancy Newsome. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
