He was predeceased by: his wife Lois; his parents, Rita Ruark Brendle and Henry Shelton Brendle; his siblings, Robert Brendle, Perry Brendle and Susie Fulk; his grandson Chad; and his great grandchild Marciella.

He is survived by: his daughters, Claudia Zarate of Winston-Salem and Christine Young of Winston-Salem; his grandchildren, Lee Nelson, Michelle Audit, Robert Oldham, Julie, Clinton Brendle, Amanda, Annabelle and Robert Newman; and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Gabby, Kendall, Bradin, Liam and Noah. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
