He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Carlson Cockman, Sr. and Dorothy Louise Moore Cockman; and his brother Steve Cockman. He is survived by: his wife Judy McGee Cockman; his daughters, Julie Lowery (Lawrence Garner), Denise Masters (Mack) and Dawn Hunley; his son-in-law Rosco Hunley; and his brothers, Billy Cockman (Reba) and Gary Cockman (Lesia Osborne). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Judy Cockman, P.O. Box 2104, Kernersville, NC 27285.
