He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. William G. Light and Vernie Johnson Light; and his brothers, Ronald Light and Doug Light. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Wilson "Pat" Light; his sons, Damon Light (Amy) of Raleigh, NC and Derek Light (Becky) of Kernersville, NC; and his grandchildren, Katelyn, Connor, Chance and Kelsey.
