With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Franklin Melton of Kernersville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 23, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though John may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Carson" Melton and Myrtle Hopkins Melton. He is survived by: his brother Stephen Melton (Linda) of Kernersville; his nieces, Ann Melton of Kernersville and Lynn Wagner (Jason) of Asheboro; his nephew Steven Melton (Krystal) of Walnut Cove; his great-nieces, Raylin Melton (David) of Mt. Airy and Riley Melton of Kernersville; and also David "Lil Peanut" of Mt. Airy.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Muddy Creek Friends Cemetery (1282 Whicker Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 2:45 PM at the same location.

Johnny and I dated in high school.. when I was in the 10th grade and he was in the 11th grade we attend prom together. We had a sweet, loving high school relationship. I will never foget the turquoise. Mustang he drove.. I moved away ending our connection. Many years later we ran into each other and went out some. He will always have a special place in my heart!”
