He was predeceased by: his parents, Heggie Bishop Burgess and Thelma Jean Hamm Burgess; his wife Kathryn Burgess; and his brother Curtis Burgess. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Burgess Jr. and Melissa Burgess; his grandchildren, Jessica, James, Cole, Kathryn and Parker; and his sisters, Judy Gordy (Linda Culler), Debbie Tuttle (Betty Mabe), Donna Burgess, Paula Stop (Russ) and Cindy Mabe (Bobbie Burgess). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
