He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Samuel Kinton and Bertha Slaughter Kinton; and his siblings, Otis Charles Kinton, Annette Kinton Parchman and Melvin Bob Kinton.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Crissman Kinton; and his children, Wendy Kinton Poole (Steve), Jerry Slaughter Kinton Jr. (Sharon) and Martha Kinton Weston (Marc). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
