He was predeceased by: his parents, Malvin A. Metts and Ruth Woods Metts; his children, James Wesley Metts and Wendy Metts; and his sister Betty Lou Metts.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Cornelia Brown-Metts; his children, Sandra Stewart and Daniel Metts; and his siblings, Glenda Davis (Mike) and Johnny Metts (Jewel).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Cancer Association or to the American Heart Association.
