He is survived by: his wife Betty Zane Lanter; his children, Debbie Heath (Justin) and Herb Lanter, Jr. (Emily); his grandchildren, Heather, Kimberly, Nicole, Doug, Donnie, David, Emma, Addison, Angela and Giovanna; and his great grandchildren, Hayden, Kaitlyn, Colin, Dexter, Beckett, Griffin, Layne, Landen, Nate, Fionna and Nelly. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel (1035 N Main St, Hillsville, VA 24343). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at the Little Vine Cemetery.
