He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Gilbert Malone; his parents, Joseph Gist Malone and Edith Alma Marlowe Malone; his brother Harold Malone; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Gowan, Perry Lancaster, Bill Gilbert, Jr. and Lewis Gilbert.

He is survived by: his daughters, Angie Malone Sink (Tim), Pam Malone Norman (Keith), Carmie Malone Cook (Craig) and Melissa Malone Babcock (Jim); his grandchildren, Adam Norman (Carrie), Joseph Norman, Christina Cook Holst (David), Lauren Sink Berry (Jim), Chad Cook (Lauren), Craig Cook, Nick Sink, Ben Babcock and Jake Babcock; his great grandchildren, Sarah-Kate Berry, Levi Holst, Dylan Norman, Ethan Holst, Cooper Berry, Helen Holst, Carter Cook, Connor Berry and Lynley Cook; his siblings, Imogene Malone Horton (Robert) and Ronnie Malone (Brenda); his nephew Chris Malone; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Gilbert Gowan, Carol Gilbert Moore (James), Bett Gilbert Lancaster, Kay Gilbert McClure and Ken Gilbert. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd's Center of Kernersville, P.O. Box 2044, Kernersville, NC 27285-2044.

“We are saddened to hear of the passing of Gerald Malone. We live in Canada and met playing golf in Myrtle Beach 20 years ago. Gerald came to Myrtle Beach every time we came. He is remembered as a family man first, especially proud of his wife Helen and all 4 of his daughters, loved life and a true gentleman with everyone. Using his dry sense of humor and quick wit, you never what he was going to say next. A pillar in our lives and will be remembered forever, rest in peace. Dale and Norm Koch”
